Roberta’s

Pretty much a perfect pizza. The crust is so soft and airy, with a little bit of chew and a nice yeasty tang to it. A margherita with sausage and olives. So very, very good.

One thing that really irks me about NYC is nimbyism. This city has been growing and evolving since it was stolen from the Indians. Only the most arrogant, self-involved jackasses fail to grasp that they are merely passing through. A few years ago local residents fought tooth and nail to block the Barclays Center. They filed multiple lawsuits, protested, held benefits, even made a documentary. In the end they failed.

Now I am not always pro-development, but I am always on the side of common sense. The arena was built at the intersection of Flatbush and Atlantic Avenues, two of the most heavily travelled streets in all of New York City. It sits next to the largest commuter rail hub in Brooklyn. In short, you would have to be a frothing-at-the-mouth jackass to fight the project on the grounds that it would change the neighborhood. But fight, and lose, they did.
