I’ve been pretty good about the diet lately, but there is a sandwich in Cleveland that is irresistible to me. Located deep in the ghetto on the east side, I am pulled to Hot Sauce Williams as if by tractor beam. Resistance is futile; there is no choice but to embrace the urge and enjoy it.

I’m talking about the Polish Girl sandwich. It is a big fat steamed peppery pork sausage on a oversized hot dog roll, smothered in wet tender pulled pork, covered in crispy crinkle cut fries with a couple ladles of sweet barbecue sauce poured on top. Not too pretty to look at, but what a perfect combination of flavors and textures.
