Watching the Olympics with the wifey
is too entertaining. On Chinese synchronized swimmers: “Of course they are good. They have no distractions. What are they going to do after practice, go on Facebook? No.”
Wadden Sea Beef →
OK, how great is this? Danish Holsteins raised in saltwater marshes. Pre-salted beef raised in a gentle, wet and warm marsh. Ideal conditions for a flavorful, well marbled piece of meat. Need to find a source for this.
The wife is in this weekend after a three week absence and I’m getting excited. Friday we’re at a cocktail party benefit in an elegant old hotel where Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Irma Thomas and Del McCoury will play. Saturday I have reservations at two restaurants and am hoping a friend can get me a table at a third, better place. All three have great reputations in any case. I...
Okay, I'm calling uncle
I don’t know what I did to piss off the Gods so heartily, but it seems that I am a walking curse. First a bus crashed into our camera truck injuring 15. Then a triple stabbing on the edge of our set with one d.o.a. A steam pipe exploded, spewing asbestos into our stage. Two men were shot to death around the corner from our set. Last week I had a lovely dinner at Prezza. The next day the...

Let’s hope this week is better at work.
Met the transportation commissioner today
As well as the head of the Fire Dept.Hazmat team. Met them when they responded to the steam pipe explosion at our soundstage. I never should have let Greg take the tiki doll out of the cave. #cursed

Working in Roxbury
Filming a lot in the streets of Roxbury. It’s an tough neighborhood, but the people have been incredibly kind. One unnerving thing, though, is that apparently my name is ‘Hey Whiteboy”.
Yeah, tomorrow should be interesting...
Yesterday a bus crashed into our camera truck. Said truck was parked in the curb lane. For three days. Legally permitted to be there. Bus hit a 55’ truck set up on chocks and with the emergency brake on hard enough to move it ten feet forward. Uphill. Shook the shit out of the loader who was working in the truck at the time. Today we were doing some big traffic lockups and a fairly...

But I hit the Butcher and the Baker this morning. Two bakers, actually. Modern Pastry for cannoli and Iggy’s for an onion ficelle and sourdough rolls. Still need to find the right fishmonger in town.

Sleigh Bells gig tonight
What my wife refers to as “one of your midlife crisis bands”.
blatherlikeme replied to your photo: Rabbit...
It was completely delicious. The mouse was really more like minced rabbit in a bit of cream. It was wrapped in a very tender and moist piece of rabbit loin, and the crispy bacon formed a sort of basket around it which held it all together. One of the better things I have eaten in quite a while.
