Oh by the way, how good is life? →
Work is beyond stressful right now, but this Saturday I’ll be with my wife and Denny and Katie Mayo sitting at a table at what appears to be a spectacular restaurant in D.C. Wine will flow, food will be consumed, and life will be savored.

It’s really cute that you think I’m that interested in your life

More fun scouting with Seals
“if a sniper has the high ground on you does it help to run in a zig zag motion?”
“sure it helps. It helps you to die tired.”
I love having Navy Seals as technical advisors
“With a Pon shot they shit themselves and fall down dead instantly”
“A .308 round in the head from 400 yards, that’s easy”
“What would it look like?”
“It Did look like…”
“…and that’s why Foster could not possibly have killed himself on that park bench.”
“With a thorax shot she would live for a few...

The Longest Road: Jordan's Guide to Hurricane... →
jbowesmusic:
Hello, friends. If you’re reading this by flashlight, it’s already too late. However, if you didn’t choose to dismiss this as a complete joke, feel free to thank me later. I’m hoping to offer up some actual insight on how to survive a hurricane while peppering in a little humor. Trust me, you’re…

It means a lot, actually
I’ve been doing what I do for a while now, and I know I’m good at it. Even if I screw up I have really solid people working with/for me, so there is a certain comfort level. That being said, receiving a handful of compliments from people who don’t give them easily still feels pretty good.
I turned 43 today
During the course of the day, I:
-ate chicken wings and potato skins for dinner
-helped make a miracle happen at work that saved the major location of the movie
-drank (a little) and drove
-ignored an earthquake while working on a budget
-consciously chose to drive the wrong way down a one way street because it saved me a few minutes
-smoked pot in my hotel room
-physically threatened...

I ate one of the best meals of my life last night
Had what was easily one of the top ten meals of my life last night, with what was easily the best entree I have ever been fortunate enough to eat. Dinner at Alla Famiglia is a unique experience, albeit one I’d hesitate to repeat too often. I read an interview with Thomas Keller once wherein he very frankly discussed the fact that so many of the diners at Per Se vomit between courses in order to...

Operation Pit Bull Rescue: Successful
I had mixed emotions when I found that the doggie we found running loose in the street had been claimed by her owner. It’s good that she was reunited with them, and encouraging that the APL said she had been picked up the same day that we dropped her off. Still, she was such a sweet pup that I wouldn’t have minded adopting her. Probably saved me some marital aggravation, though, so...

Big Day Today
In terms of pure self-interest, this is the most important day on the film for me. We’re going out to see seven or eight sublets, and hopefully we’ll be moving into one of them next week. Having done this before, there are times where you see a place and just know you will be happy there. Unfortunately it’s more likely that we’ll see a few places that we just kind of...

Are you kidding me? You must be kidding me
